Mission
Are (or were) you a missionary? Do you work on the frontlines of Christian ministry?
As a Christian in a frontline position, whether supported by an organization or not, you often feel the heat of battle. There can be stress, unsettling situations, conflicts or personal challenges. A missionary may also experience culture shock, many transitions, human suffering, personal struggles, conflicts, identity questions, health problems, marital problems, fatigue, illness or family troubles.
You also remain human. As a missionary or Christian on the frontline you can often carry a lot, but you are also not a perfect person who can handle everything. Every person is vulnerable. God has made you unique as a human being and placed you in this broken world. In addition to the service you have, take the time to stay healthy yourself. Sometimes it is nice to have a specialist take a look, to get started with what you encounter and to receive good care yourself. We offer our psychosocial therapy and a listening ear to missionaries, TCKs and Christians who are on the frontline with or without an organization.
About us: We have experience with other cultures since 2008 by being involved in an international and multicultural congregation. Since 2015 our hearts have been opened to missionary work and in 2018 we have sent our place in supporting missionaries and Christian workers. Since then we also support all kinds of workers at home and abroad with a listening ear and therapy. We have now traveled to South Africa ourselves for a period of time to accompany a group of workers and to support them. Simon has also made independent visits to South Africa and Suriname.
Simon offers psychosocial therapy and relationship counseling to missionaries and Christians on the frontline. Children of missionaries and young adults are also welcome. Together we can be reached free of charge for a listening ear. Various mission organizations are now referring to us, or pointing out to their workers that this psychosocial therapy exists. Our care is independent of mission organizations.
If you are looking for support that goes beyond a listening ear, request a free introduction. We do not require a referral from your GP. Therapy is via secure video calls or takes place in Barneveld or Hengelo Gelderland. For missionaries and those who depend on donations, we use an adjusted therapy rate with free intake and a reduced hourly rate. The Dutch health insurance and various expat insurances (EZA, Z&P Advies and Jabes) also partly reimburse this care.
